Cruising Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park

Wild garlic festers with weed smoke
Thoughts of work and home decompose
Into a must that blows out like a ghost in the throat
Until tower blocks are blocked off by trees
Fading like fireworks as steps increase
Until nettles become merely cheeky
And thorns a dopamine release
Until criss-crossing paths begin
To intermingle into a cheshire cat’s grin
Until tentatively let in
By hidden extended limbs

Lights penetrate midnight black
Scree clack-clack-clack

Gravestones tower over toppled trees
Brush grass stains off knees

Rush of blood to the face
Spit out stranger’s taste
